Why soy wax is better than conventional candle wax:
Most conventional candles are made from paraffin wax – a byproduct of petroleum refining. Researchers at South Carolina State University found that paraffin-based candles release toxic toluene and benzene when burned – soy wax candles, however, do not. These chemicals, fragrances, and waxes are known irritants for asthmatics and allergy sufferers.
Soy wax burns cleaner and does not emit the "diesel exhaust"-like toxins that paraffin candles do. Natural waxes like soy produce little to no soot and are free of harmful chemicals.

Application:
When burning for the first time, let the candle burn until the entire surface is liquid – this prevents "tunneling." Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each lighting. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Never leave unattended.
